P-M-P System
P-M-P LUSTER FINISH What is it? This is a newly developed product that restores the shine to fiberglass surfaces.
P-M-P LUSTER FINISH is not a wax, a polish, Teflon or silicone coating. It is a water-based, clear, acrylic, which lasts for a year or more with the correct application and maintenance. This gloss restorer is applied by wiping on five coats with an approved applicator. P-M-P LUSTER FINISH will not wash off with mild soap and water.
P-M-P PREPARATION-STRIPPER Preparation
The final outcome of this process will be based on the initial preparation of the surface to be coated with P-M-P LUSTER FINISH. Remove all dirt, stains, oxidation, wax, polish, compounds and all other contaminates by simply washing the surface with P-M-P PREPERATION-STRIPPER or a very strong industrial grade soap. Standard boat soap is not strong enough to prepare the surface properly. If any stains or oxidation remain, re-wash these areas using a scrub pad or 600 to 1000 grit wet-n-dry sandpaper. Orange waterline stains and rust stains are easily removed with P-M-P STAIN REMOVER. After the surfaces are clean and stain free, rinse thoroughly and make sure all surfaces are completely dry.
P-M-P LUSTER FINISH Application
For uniform coats, always use a P-M-P APPLICATOR for all large or flat surfaces. Use the loose applicator (included) for small areas or for applications around fittings, vents, cleats, etc. Wipe the surface with thin, slightly overlapping strokes in a straight line. Let each coat dry completely (1 to 4 minutes) before recoating. The first few coats may streak with different gloss levels due to the absorption rate, which will vary from application to application. Five coats of P-M-P LUSTER FINISH will produce optimum results. For best results, make sure the day of application is over 55 degrees and under 95 degrees. Avoid direct sunlight and rain before, during and after the application. Launch the boat twenty-four or more after application to allow curing of the multiple coatings. Wash the applicators with hot soapy water after using and store in a sealed container. If P-M-P Luster Finish is applied and maintained properly, additional coats may be applied at a later date if the original coating looses some of its shine. If any degradation is experienced, the original P-M-PUSTER FINISH must be removed with P-M-P PREPARATION-STRIPPER and a new coating applied.
